Driveway drains may cause issues..... if they are internally damaged or if the  asphalt is concaved or cracked on the exterior of the drain. The  damaged drain causes water to penetrate underneath the asphalt and concrete garage floor causing the water to freeze in the winter resulting in cracks and extensive damages.

 

For some properties, entrance drains are often used in front of driveways with downsloped entries to garage doors that can accumulate water during rain and melting snow.
