Complete asphalt paving

The appearance of your driveway creates.... an impression about your home and provides a focal point for passers-by and visitors approaching your home. And an attractive driveway, one with "curb appeal," adds value to our home investment.

So it is worthwhile to plan your driveway carefully. With asphalt as your material - and attention to design and construction - your driveway will provide years of lasting service and an excellent return on the investment.

Asphalt is the most cost-effective option you can choose. Just as it has for millions of homeowners, asphalt pavement can last many years for you - with only minimal maintenance.

Excavation:
In order to ensure a quality paved driveway, it is critical that:

  • inspecting your sub base is the most important step in preparing your driveway, for any soft spots, such uneven areas, tire ruts, mud spots, disturbed areas from frost, thaw play and contaminated areas.

  • Excavate the entire area to be paved to a depth of at least 30cm (12 inches), forming a slope to facilitate the water flow towards a ditch, drain or street. This prevents water formation on the sub base.

  • Clean crushed stone is then applied, and compacted with a 3-ton vibrating roller

  • We will then start the paving process laying a minimum of cm (2.5 inches) of residential asphalt leaving a smooth aesthetic look.

Asphalt XPS suggests not driving or parking on the newly asphalted driveway for at least 5-7 days. You can drive and park on your new driveway but avoid the following:

  • Never turn the wheels of your vehicle when it is in the off position

  • Avoid parking in the exact same location every day

  • Sharp objects such as kick stands, motorcycles, chairs and car ramps can cause waves and depressions in the asphalt

  • It can take up to 12 months for asphalt to harden and heal especially with long warm summer days
